Latest news about Oregon's health care reform legislation

Representative Sara Gelser (16th District - D-Corvallis/Philomath) has now signed on as a co-sponsor of HB 3260 which authorizes a feasibility study of financing options for health care - including public funding!  Notes of appreciation to her for taking this public stance can be sent to: rep.saragelser@state.or.us (email) (503) 986-1416 (Capitol phone) or even better yet an actual written note to her at 900 Court Street NE H-285, Salem 97301.    While thanking her, it would be appropriate to ask her to reconsider and also co-sponsor HB 2922, the publicly funded health care bill; Michael Dembrow (D-Portland) and Jennifer Williamson (D-Beaverton) are chief co-sponsors and 22 additional legislators have signed on as co-sponsors.  A  


Hearings for both of these health care reform bills have been set - mark your calendars now and watch for additional information, including car-pooling options.  HCAO (the statewide coalition)  will be coordinating testimony for the two hearings but a substantial show of red shirted Health Care is a Human Right advocates is essential to show lawmakers that the bills have growing public support.
